Midi Controller Issues

I sometimes experience an issue where I have my midi bass track selected & when I press a key on the midi controller it activates the bass sound & drum sound.
When I select the midi drum track it works normally, no other sounds.
Currently, this is happening in a new X1 project .
Also, when I added the synths to the rack, I used all default settings.

This is very frustrating as it stops the creativity cold & puts me into problem-solving mode.
Any solutions?

Sounds like your drum track has Input Echo selected but you also have 'Input Echo Current Track' turned on in settings (I forget where). This means your drum track will always be monitoring, as will any other MIDI track you click on.

You either want to have that setting turned ON and not enable input echo on any tracks, or turn it off and manually echo tracks as you wish to play them.

I knew it was something super-dumb-simple.
You just click on the little input echo button in the track in question.
        o)))

    Thanks!
