Midi Controller not showing up in Controller/Surface option

Hi folks,

I swapped out my motherboard from an AMD chipset to Intel i7. I'm running Windows10 64bit.

My problem is that I plugged in my Roland A-300 PRO and the keys work on the instruments just fine but the control buttons and sliders do not work with SPLAT.

Everything seems to be fine with the exception of APRO no longer shows up as an option in the Controller/Surface drop down menu as it did with the old motherboard. Oddly enough, SPlat thinks I have a Mackie devices which I do not have.

There are no issues in Device Manager and I've run Windows Updates. I'm at a loss here. The buttons and sliders and my favorite part of the midi controller.

have you selected the device in "Midi devices" ?
that's really the only reason I can think it wouldn't be showing up, unless of course there are drivers with the A-300 ?
did you install them ?

Roland doesn't provide a driver for Windows 10. Their site states that the driver will automatically be loaded once you plugin the controller.

As Chuck said,

Look under properties > Midi Devices > and look for the device there.  Check the input box and the output box if needed and then apply and close.  Now set up the device again as a controller and see what happens.

I just had a Windows 10 update and it made my out dated M-Audio Trigger Finger stop working in Sonar  Platinum because the Trigger Finger thinks it's connect to a USB 3 port and because of that, it won't work.   The last driver made for it was for Windows 7, however, I've been using it in legacy mode for the past several years.  Time for a new drum pad controller now I must say.

Peace,

IIRC windows 10 only automatically installs the usb driver (which us why your keys work) You need to manually install the control surface driver for Sonar. One of these should do the trick:
