Midi Devices do not appear in Midi Devices pop up window.

ISSUE: Problem with Midi Input and Output Devices not appearing from the Option > Midi Devices pop up window.

AMD Althn 64 Processor 3400+
2.40Ghz, 960 MB of RAM
Windows xp sp3
Sonar 8

The Device manager from my Device Manager shows M-Audio Delta 44 working properly. I check the midi properties for the M-Audio Delta and Driver is enabled and functioning properly. I Also have a Realtek AC'97 Audio Controller that is functioning properly and midi properties look fine here as well.

When I check Options / Midi Devices I only see one outputs device listed called 'Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth' The M-Audio midi and Realtek midi devices are missing.I tried rebooting my PC twice and still all I see is 'Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth'?

What's missing here? I don't get why I'm not seeing my other midi devices here?

the M-audio delta 44 doesn't have MIDI. if you have a keyboard or midi controller connected to the computer you don't have it connected to the delta 44 because there's no port there.

The Delta 44 does not have midi in and midi out on the sound card or it's break out box but there are MIDI devices and instruments that appear under the M-Audio Delta 44 Properties window. So what are these for?

So, I have a midiman midisport external interface usb connected to my pc. Do i need to plug in my sampler midi in to the midi out of the midiman then some other midi devices will appear under Midi Devices in Sonar?

if you have a MIDIman USB then it should be showing up in the MIDI devices of sonar, but not the D44. if the midiman is not showing up in the MIDI devices, then it's not being recognized by windows either because sonar picks up that list from windows.

do you have the midiman inserting into the usb port before starting sonar?
do you have it plugged into a usb hub (not recommended)?
when you plugged the midiman in, did you use a CD to install drivers?
what version of sonar do you have?
    what operating system?

I realized I didn't have the latest drivers for the midiman midi since I upgraded to Windows XP SP3 and uninstalled the previous drivers for my midiman midi. The issue is resolved and it was my dumb fault.
