Midi Editing

When you use the smart tool to change the velocity of a midi note that becomes the default velocity for all new notes. Can I change this in the options somewhere?

Also, when I enter a new midi note and change the note length (quarter to eighth for instance) is there an option to make this the new default entered note for all new notes instead of having to update it on the control bar?

In the duration dropdown in the Tool HUD, choose "Last Selected" to remember the  previous duration setting. I could be wrong, but I think the "remember last velocity" is built-in, and cannot be disabled.
