Midi Hardware

I am using Kurzweil K2500 as my controller I've set up midi channel 1 to play both Kurzweil and my Korg TR, when I play they both sound, if I record on kurzweil sequencer they both sound on playback, if I record on sonar only Kurzweil plays, nothing from Korg tr ? any ideas why ? thanks.

what do you have your MIDI tracks' outputs set to?  how do you have the 2 connected to the computer?

I originally had the KorgTR connected to the computer, installed the driver for that, now I have connected my kurzweil to my soundcard presonus via midi, and use midi through for korg, no driver for kurzweil it has no usb..

ok - but what are the outputs of your MIDI track and what exactly are you trying to accomplish?  are you trying to get them BOTH to play from the MIDI track?  if so, you can't.  you'll have to clone the MIDI track and set the output of each of the MIDI tracks to the respective instruments.

IF you only have 1 midi connector on your sound card.....then you could hook your keyboards up serial. That is, use your midi out from your sound card to your Korg midi in , use the korg's midi thru to drive the Kurzweil. Then when you're tracking, you would hook the Kurzweils midi out to the Korg midi in...and hook the Korg midi thru to the input of your computer.
Using midi thru does introduce a very slight delay, but having only one device ( inline thru ) might not be particularly noticeable.
