Midi Note Channels

I imported a midi file into Sonar. Each of the notes is set to channel 10, how to I change all notes on the track to another channel? Also, How do I change a group of notes to another channel?

Select the track or notes and then input a new channel number in the Channel parameter of the Event Inspector. Take a look at this video for more info...

Also, when importing a midi file can I import the midi file tempo overtop of the current project tempo?

Do you mean to change the tempo based on the imported file's tempo?
Once you import the data and save as a Sonar project, you can use all of Sonar's tools (including creating tempo changes).
The trick is to save it as a project, then later, convert it to a conventional midi file if that is the final destination!

Thanks! The even inspector worked, and when I use Sonar to open a midi file then save it as a project it includes all tempo changes and time signature changes as well. Awesome!

It's opening the MIDI file directly which makes its tempo and time changes come in with the project.  Even if you let it remain a MIDI file without saving it as a Sonar Project file, those elements would still be in the data.

If you already have a project established and you import a MIDI file into it - the project tempo will over-ride whatever tempo data was originally on the imported file.
