Midi Note Duration Problem

Hi,

Is anyone else having this problem?

When you select a group of midi notes in any view (staff or piano roll) it will only let you change the duration of the notes if no selected note has the duration you want to change it to.

For instance: You select one note in a chord that has a duration of a quarter note (1:000) You copy that number and then you select the whole chord including that note and try and change all the notes to 1:000 and it won't let you. You can paste it or write it in and press enter but nothing happens.  I have to change all of them to a different time then back to 1:000 or just not select the notes that have the time I'm changing them to. This gets very annoying after a while.

Can someone try that out and see if it's just me?

Thanks!!

ps. I'm running X1b but it was doing it in X1a too.  I haven't installed the Hotfix yet but I didn't see that issue addressed on the list.

What if you select the chord and enter the length you want in the event filter inspector ?

I'm not sure what you mean.  I thought the even filter is used to select notes based on a specific criteria. Not to change midi info of the notes that are selected. I'll try it out though.

I usually use the Event Inspector to change the midi data of notes.

Try the Event Inspector on the Control Bar. It has a 'Duration field that seems to work.

It is not cool that simply double clicking the chord doesn't change all the note lengths - IMO.

The event inspector lets you change the notes but not if one of the notes already has a duration you're changing the rest of the notes to.
