Midi Record out of Time

Ok heres the problem in 1 sentence: I'm trying to record my edrum, and although the playing is perfect, the recorded midi data is about 1 quarter note off. What I have is a full project file with plugins and stuff, I'm currently using about 512 buffer, I'm monitoring my edrum off its own module but using Superior to playback the midi stuff. I think this problem is due to the fact that sonar is compensating for the plugin delay but the midi tracks aren't being compensated. I want to run my full project file and track drums over it. My current workaround to this is to bounce all the project's audio to a new project file and run at the lowest buffer rate, but I don't really want to do that. However, is there any way to turn MIDI compensation on or something like that to solve this problem? Heres my setup: Intel i7 2600k Win 7 Pro Sonar X1 x64 Saffire PRO 40 interface

This sounds like a problem you could have in cubase and it was fixed by finding the check box in midi setting called USE SYSTEM TIMESTAMP.

Is there something like that in x1?

You can play the drum and hear it properly in real time right?

If so then it isn't latency problem, just the way the notes are written in midi.

The workaround was to select everything you recorded and drag it to where it belongs.

You would have to turn off the snap first to do that.

P for preferences, Audio, Configuration file, Enable device output latecey copmensation, Set to False, apply. Try again and see if it works. In SD2, my midi was actually recorded ahead of where it was played until I set this to false. Might not be Your issue, but worth a try. Also, do it do this in both WDM and ASIO mode?

@tacman7 Can't find anything like that in the configuration file, but upon googling I found this post on soundonsound. But I can't find the TTSEQ.ini file to test that out. "By the way, this is a Windows rather than a Cubase-specific issue. Cakewalk's Sonar, to give another sequencer example, has a parameter named 'IgnoreMidiInTimeStamps' in its TTSEQ.ini initialisation file, with a default value of zero that you can change to '1' if your MIDI data is being recorded at the wrong time or it is drifting." http://www.soundonsound.c...es/cubasetech_1207.htm EDIT: Found the TTSE.ini , added the line in but it doesnt help one bit @Blogman Tried that out but problem still persist. I even tried disabling PDC and the problem is still there!

Also, make sure your system sounds are off.
