Midi Timing problems X1 32bit on Win7 64bit machine - need help
I've installed X1 32 on my new Win7 64bit machine. The timing of some midi notes are being delayed - and it changes depending on where I start the project. If I start at the beginning, some notes are delayed. If I start closer to the delayed note, the note is not delayed. This is on an Addictive Drums track. Also, on a GPO track, some midi notes are totally being dropped - no sound. Again, if I start the project right before the notes, they play. But if I start at an earlier point, they don't play. I'm doing side by side comparisons with my old DAW - X1 32 on a Win7 32bit machine. The identical project plays perfectly on that machine. Both systems are updated to X1a. It seems the only difference is that one machine is Win7 64bit and the other is Win7 32bit. They are both using ASIO4All same version. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey G, I haven't installed X1 yet, but the same thing happened to me when I upgraded to 8.5. I had to reinstall my audio interface / midi drivers and all was well. Good luck and Merry Christmas! V

In the midi preferences options, (hit p) go to the midi section and click on playback and recording. Where it says "playback" try increasing the buffer size. That may do the trick.

That did it! It was set to 250. I changed it to 500 and the timing is perfect! Thank you!!! I checked my old win7 32bit maching running X1 and it was set to 500 there too, which is kind of strange. Why would Sonar install itself to 250 on my 64bit machine, but 500 on the 32bit machine? And why would my new machine, which is quad and quite a bit faster than my old machine, choke at 250?

Simply chiming in because I want to keep my eye on this. I could swear I've had this issue but will have to check more thoroughly

dacookster Perhaps this could be the solution to my problem......? certainly doesn't hurt to try. If it does something you don't like, you can always change it back.

BTW, mine is currently set to 250. Since posting here I don't seem to have the issue anymore though. Ugggggg, am I the only that thinks these crazy computer programs require a "burn in" period????

I seen mine was set at 250 also so I changed it to 500, Mine was acting like the timing was off, I also noticed a option saying always echo MIDI, What exactly does that function do exactly? would that possibly play a delayed signal back over the original as that is almost exactly what mine was sounding like.
