Midi cross talk

Are any of you experiencing midi cross talk?

I am using a motu 8x8 with a number of synths.  my main 2 are a Moog Voyager and an Access Virus Polar TI 2.  Anyway, in Sonar X1 many times I will physically play the voyager and it will trigger the Virus.  This also sometimes happens when I play the virus and it will trigger the voyager as well.

In the tracks, I make sure that only the correct track is selected and that the echo button is only selected for the appropriate track. Frankly, it aggravates me that you even have to push the echo button.  Sonar should know that you are triggering sounds on that track because it is selected...

Anyway, are any of you experiencing cross talk issues like this?  This is a major problem for me as I do a lot of writing and programming in this manner.  Are there any solutions?

My sonar X1 is up to date with all the recent patches.

Thanks

Joe

In "Preferences -> MIDI -> Playback and Recording" you can check "always echo current midi track" and never use the echo buttons, if that's how you want to go. As far as one synth playing the other, you might want to set up each track to be selective about which port and channel it will accept on input. But I always found it more convenient to use just one keyboard and use Sonar track enables to direct that keyboard to the MIDI track I'd like to play. It's even easier if you have a quick midi channel setting at the keyboard; just echo-enable all the tracks and change the keyboard midi channel to play through a different track.

I have experienced some very weird behaviour with synths being played back from other tracks if using lots of synths and switching from one to the other while recording. It was only while the recording was happening and the recorded playback did so as expected but very disconcerting while doing the recording.

    As to

Frankly, it aggravates me that you even have to push the echo button

go to Preferences-->MIDI-->Playback & Recording-->Playback  and check "Always echo current track" and you won't have to.

bvideos quicker on the trigger than me today.......
