Midi in triggers unwanted snare

Miroslav Philharonik with a simple keyboard midi in. The notes above middle c... defgg#a trigger a snare sound no matter what the track is set to. Also triggers the sound that is supposed to be there.

For instance... track 6 is phiharmonik1 trumpet channel 6 with keyboard in set to OMNI or any single channel (tried several) I get the trumpet + the snare. However if I record that way the snare sounds while recording but not at playback. Driving me crazy.

I have figured this out: I have 4 instances of Philharmik. Trumpet is from Philharmonik1. If I mute Philharmonik3 the snare isn't triggered. Channel 1 in Philharmink3 is the snare but why is that triggered by keyboard midi OMNI when I am on a track loaded with PhilharmoniK1 and channel 6, trumpet?

First, set separate MIDI channels for each soft synth if you haven't already done so. Then when you record MIDI for one of them, set your keyboard to the appropriate channel for that synth. When you're done recording a track, you can go one step further and set its MIDI input channel to "none", completely shutting it off from the outside world and freeing up a MIDI channel for an additional instrument.

You'll probably find that you've got a synth whose input channel is either set to "omni" or is set to the same MIDI channel as Philharmonik3.

When I use Miroslav, I find it easier to keep organized by using a single instance of the instrument with multiple voices on separate MIDI channels. One multi-timbral instance is more CPU-efficient than multiple instances, although the tradeoff is you can't freeze/render each voice independently.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Yup... that did it... thanks much.
I am not as organized as you. One instance for the normal instruments then just start using others as I need them. End up with, say, violin1 in 4 different philharmonks and 6 or 7 different channels... I ought to think about a little before I start. If I come back after a month or so it is a huge problem.
    Thanks again
