Midi input keeps moving/ swapping

In my track midi input/output box, I set it to My Akai EIE...everything works fine.
However, after I have Saved and quit the project, on re opening I find that this setting has been set to some other midi source such as either my Axiom, or Korg controller....I then have to reset all the track midi input/ outputs.

How do I permanently set Midi input/ outputs ? I never got this problem until I used the Akai.

this is a long standing issue - with supposedly no way to fix it inside the software (which i don't believe at all) ...

anyway, stick to the same sequence of powering up all your MIDI gear, this should help to avoid it ... however, it also means that you have to power up all MIDI gadgets everytime even if you don't need some of them, otherwise Sonar changes the order again ...

put in a feature request - something like a user definable permanent ordering/prioritizing of MIDI devices and I you have my vote

    Thanks....

Maybe it's something to do with USB...I never had this problem ( and others) with my EMU internal card...in fact all in all I somtimes think I might be better off reinstalling it.
Another "if it's working...leave it alone" scenario ?
