Midi not working??

I've previously only used Sonar for recording audio, but today decided to do some midi composing. I'm only getting certain notes to play, sometimes just the first one only. At the moment I'm using the Cakew. sound center, and I got a few notes to play, then added some more and none of the new notes will play unless it's the same note as the first one. Is this a bug or am I doing something fundamentally wrong? It just seems totally bizzare. Thanks for any Help, Jack

Some patches only play between certain midi data notes. Change your patch and see what happens

Nope, it's not that, tried it as well - it can happen with a simple piano patch, just the first note will play. Also when I said adding notes it will only play the new notes if it is the same as the very first note, it won't play other notes that it plays before I added new ones!

Some softsynths will not play notes below a certain octave with adjustments. With some midi files I have I have had to raise the octave , mostly on bass tracks. That and the duration of the notes could also be cutting out the note after it. You can also, like in Dim Pro, raise it an octave so you don't have to touch the midi track. Give these 2 things a shot

If you are just getting started with MIDI, you might want to work through TUTORIAL 4 in the SONAR User Reference Guide.
