Midi note volumes change during playback and bounce down.

Hi, I don't know if I always had this problem or not, but I recently noticed it working on a new song.
I am using Sonar 8.5 and Trilian Bass as a VSTi.
Every time I play back the midi or bouce the midi to audio, the levels are usually different?>
Not drastically, but it's almost like the VSTi is playing at a different level on some notes each time.
I tried it with Absynth 5 as well and I get the same result. It always bouces differently. Any ideas or help?
Thanks

What kind of a sound are you using? Many synth sound presets include modulation by LFO to make them lively, and so they never give the same bounce twice.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

If you're bouncing/freezing to mono, as I assume you are with a bass instrument, 8.5 does have a bug in which mono bounces are 3 dB hotter than they should be. I've just gotten into the habit of automatically trimming 3 dB off my synth bass tracks after freezing or bouncing.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
