Midi problem X1

I just can't seem to get a grip on the midi in X1. Here is the problem, and I have never had this before in ProTools or all other versions of Sonar. I have an S90es that I use as a controller through USB. I like leaving the piano on all the time for quick ideas, tuning, giving clients notes, jamming in between, etc. The problem is that the echo seems to always be on--when I'm playing one of my other synths I still here the piano. Am I missing some new feature or something in X1. (local is set to off on keyboard.)

    well, I just fixed it, but I'm not sure how--basically I just erased all the xtra midi tracks. Gosh, maybe one of them the input echo was on. I've also had a problem with the inputs shifting when I open the project--of course maybe I need to always make sure the keyboard is on before opening Sonar. Just talking out loud here, but what happens is I will have Omnisphere, SD2, RA, Stormdrum, EWQlSO all open and somethimes the midi inputs, outputs switch from Play instrument or Omnisphere to something else (and of course they don't sound. ) Again, a first in X1 after using Cakewalk since version 3.

    Are you on the latest patch build? I seem to remember this sounding similar to a problem that was fixed with echo on.
