Midi reverts to staccato...any solutions? Thanks.

As I attempt to edit my midi after having entered a melody from my keyboard, it converts to a staccato sound...frustrating.

What kind of editing are you doing? Are you using the Process Menu or editing in either the Staff or PRV view? The first thing that comes to mind is that snap to grid is involved.

+1 to what Chappel says, I"m not sure what "reverts to staccoto" exactly means, but if you're not getting the note lengths you want and if you're entering them in staff or PRV then you probably have a resolution setting different from what you want.

This is a curious scenario - but mostly because you're providing no specific information, ComposerEd.  You're playing your keyboard, then you're going in to edit, and somehow the notes are suddenly staccato, as in short notes---I've used MIDI for years, and Cakewalk for quite a few of those years, and nothing remotely like this has happened to me.  That means that I haven't done exactly the same thing you're doing - but I don't know what you're doing--fill us in.

The Piano Roll View is the heart of MIDI in Sonar.  You can do anything you want in the way of editing in there- But it doesn't involve any kind of automatic transformation of legato notes into staccato notes.  It sounds like you're using some automatic plugin of some sort, but not using it correctly--or something--?

Come back and tell us more.
