Midi setup

Old time caker with a drumkat midi setup question. I am running sonar 8.5 producer

I have a semi functioning ( 3 out of the 10 sections won't trigger) drum kat with 6 optional pads plugged into it.

How do I setup / make  a widget etc, my drum kat to trigger drums in Kontact WITHOUT saving anything in the drum kat???

same goes for session drummer 3 with the optional oceanside drum kit bounus add on from 2 years ago I've never checked out.  Lol..

THANKS!!,

You just need the DrumKat to send the right note numbers to Kontact or Session Drummer. You shouldn't have to do much. Do you get any sound at all? Do you see the MIDI track meter respond when you hit the pads? If not, then the problem is your MIDI interface or the DrumKat is not setup properly.

Yes I am able to kick various drum notes.. the problem is getting the kick on the foot. snare where I'd like it etc etc etc.

How do I do assign / save that on the sonar side???

Create a Drum map. See the Help Menu for instructions.

You'll have to do as Dave say's or go into your pad's menu and assign the triggers to GM standards.
