    Do you have a keyboard?
If so, use that as your midi-card, and plug a cable from the headphone put to your line in, on you pc...

If you don't have a midi keyboard, then just use Wave out as your recording device... Which means you record everything that's going out from your speekers.

Have you never heard of SoftSynths?
Sonar has a great feature for converting midi to audio without ever leaving the interface.
If you can get hold of a manual!

convert midi drum files(fxpansion) to audio files!

Insert a softsynth, e.g. the TTS-1. Route your MIDI track to it. Select a drumkit you like in the track parameters. Use MIDI channel 10. Solo the MIDI drum track. EDIT->Bounce to track. If you want more sophistication (e.g. sep. FX/EQ per instrument) use CAL "Split Note to Tracks" first and solo each drum sound, so you can bounce kick, SD, Hats, etc. to separate audio tracks.

Select the MIDI track and the associated audio track (with the softsynth) and Edit-Bounce to Tracks to a new audio track.

I'm sure I may get razzed for this...
I just recently purchased "band in a box' ($70.00 USD)
I setup a folder for midi files. I will then import files to band in the box and wave
    them out.
Being an old Cakewalk user, I may also use my existing hardware, Alesis SR-16 ($100 USD)
or my Roland M-32 for playback ($100.00?), and 'send' to a hardware mixer, that way I mix
on the way in to Sonar. At any rate thats what I do, may not be the answer to your needs, just what I do.
