Mike Fields May 23, 1956- May 11, 2014

My Brother Mike died today, 12 days short of his 58th birthday. He was stricken Friday, and his girlfriend said he wasn't breathing for about 15 minutes before the rescue squad arrived.
He was on life support since then, and after the docs decided there was no hope, we had them turn the machines off.
He had three of his brothers with him, as well as his girlfriend Penny and her daughter Patricia and Patricia's husband.
He was a talented musician, but diabetes and other health problems ended his musical endeavors. I learned a lot from him about music when we were growing up and most of what I know about playing guitar.
He will be missed.

So sorry to hear that news. All of you will be in my thoughts.

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.
