Minimalism

A small experiment in a minimal form.

There are three repeating pattern's played in different order by three main voices with a final pattern played by all.

There are also two supporting voices not playing the patterns.

    the celesta effect was magical!  Did you use an arpeggiator or did you play everything?  Really nice little piece.

    Thank you David, no arpeggiator's were used, I played some of it and then made use of copy and paste, I could not guarantee the timing of my furry paws so I cheated a little.

    Hi Wookiee, I like this -- has a bit of that Jean Michel Jarre feel.  It's interesting how it seems so stimulating to the brain, but is relaxing at the same time.  Music is a mystery.

    This song is hypnotic, especially at a certain time of day.  I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this exercise in rhythmic patterns.  King Crimson uses this technique, and I love it.  Keep it up, furry one!

    Great work. For some reason it sounds a bit complex with all the different layers of melodies

    Kakku my thanks, it is subtle, there are three repeating patterns, played by each voice in turn, the start of each voice is delayed by an eighth note in turn.

    Quite a trip, John!  I didn't notice the patterns you were talking to kakku about.  My unsophisticated ear brought a vision to my mind of tha new TV Show "The Crossing".  That is good because music like this should cauwe a person to see things.  Where were you in the 70s?  I would have spent days trippin to this!

    Thank you Warren, now where was I in the 70's well rumour has it I was alive but I have very little recollection of those years.  They do say if you remember them your were not there so.....
