Minimize All Tracks...

...is there a shortcut for it? Couldn't find anything in the reference guide.

I can't remember if there's a simple one-click way to do it, but if you double click on a non-selected track number, that will select all tracks, then hold the shift key while dragging the bottom of one track until it's minimized, and all selected tracks will minimize with it when you release.

Still on the fence about X1, but in 8.5.3, Ctrl Up Arrow decreases the size of all tracks one step at a time until they're all mimized and Ctrl Down Arrow increases the size of all tracks one step at a time.
    May still be the same.

Ha, yeah that too. I knew I was thinking too hard. I do that all the time.

Click CTL-A and the press the shift key and take your mouse and minimize one track by sliding it up and the rest will follow.
There might be a new way, but I dunno

Not a keybindable function that anyone knows of? I'm surprised if not, really.

Nope. Doesn't get much easier than Ctrl + hold up arrow though. Takes about one second even on large projects. Unless you only have one finger available of course.

I'd be one interesting guitarist if that was so... ;)

But ok, thanks for the work arounds guys. I'm surprised CJ's given method doesn't work with the minimize button on a track as well (holding shift and clicking one minimize button, resulting in all tracks minimized), and even moreso that there isn't simply a keybinding for minimizing all tracks... It seems like a pretty common feature to me... Ah well. Maybe I'll submit a feature request (if that ever actually gets anywhere...).

I haven't installed X1 yet, but doesn't the F key still work for that as it does in 8.5?

The "F" key quickly makes them all as narrow as possible or thinner than you may even like.

"F" Fits them all on to the screen, whatever size that may be. If you have a huge amount of tracks, that will minimize them, but if you don't, the tracks are not minimized fully.

    It does.

It doesn't. F fits tracks to window as the previous person mentioned. If there are lot of them this will seem like it is minimising all tracks but it isn't. It is simply fitting them to the window - all tracks the same height.

Reason I have resurrected this thread is for the benefit of the OP and anyone else that cares.

I have discovered the way to minimize all tracks after playing around last night.

     Sorry Dimelives1, it isn't a short-cut key either.

    1. Select all tracks
    2. Double-click one of the track separator lines whilst holding SHIFT key.
    3. BOOM, all tracks minimized.

You guys were allllllmost there ;)

    Enjoy.
