That's a pretty good price. But I assume I would need to upgrade to SL3 to get it to work yes? I also wonder if I really NEED it, with already have EWQL Symphonic Silver, Gold, and Platinum, plus Hollywood Strings and Brass. Of course I hear you can get nice effects from laying different libraries. I guess the question then is would it work, or would I need SL3...

BTW...it's too bad you missed the "Buy 1 for $29 get 4 FREE deal"...was a group buy... They were giving them away to build up a customer base for the ST3 upgrade...because they know that those of who got screwed royally by IK won't be buying that upgrade till the next group buy...or $29, whichever comes first...

Have been weighing up buying either this or Magnus, but at $49, seems too good to turn down. Before I plunge in and buy, do I need a host program or can I just use this version as a VST within Sonar X3? Also, is it the full edition? Thanks

People have had mixed results using st 2 with sonar X.xx
I'm sure its full edition because ik has been giving away older products cheaply the past few years.

Yes, it's the full edition. Miroslav Classic and SampleTank 2.5 L are smaller versions, so be sure you don't get those. No point in messing with them at this time. They run as VST's in X3. These are 32 bit plug-ins, so be careful to install them in the proper locations, and install as admin. I have both running fine inside X3e 64 bit. Mathew, as you've noted, layering sounds from different libraries can be effective. Do you need this? Maybe not, but it's nice to have options available. Personally, I have enjoyed what these two programs bring to the table. ymmv

The $29.99 "in anticipation of SampleTank 3" sale in May included Miroslav Philharmonik CE (not full), SampleTank 2L (not XL), Sonik Synth 2, SampleMoog, and SampleTron. Also, it wasn't a Group Buy so that was the pricing without getting anything additional for free. XPansion Tanks were reduced in price too (but also not in any Group Buy type of format during this promotion). Hope that clarifies what you may or may not have missed out on. None of these products would qualify for the lowest upgrade pricing during the SampleTank 3 preorder period.

Well, I think I'm going to hold off for right now. I certainly don't NEED it. And I really want to learn to use Hollywood Strings and Brass before I buy anything else. I'm going to do my best to resist GAS for now.
