Miroslav Philharmonik

I have been using Cakewalk Sonar for years and love it but I have a major problem with the VST Library Miroslav Philharmonik. Basically, when I make a Tempo change in a Midi project (and I need to do this all the time) Miroslav samples either shorten or lengthen the sound, proportional to the change of Tempo. I've just downloaded Sonar Home Studio Demo and it still does the same. I read somewhere else that it was possibly something to do with Miroslav being recognized as a DXi plugin rather than as a VST one?

Please help!!

Many thanks

A DAW has no influence on what a sampler does with tempo changes.
You can check using Utilities/Cakewalk Plug-in Manager where the plug-in is listed, in DXi or VSTi (or both).

Note that original MP is old, 32bit and no longer developed version. Check SampleTank 3 Free. If it works with samples better for you, MP 2 (in case you have the money) will do that as well. If you do not have the money, SampleTank 3 SE is relatively cheap (when on sale) and can import original MP 1.

Thanks for the reply and suggestions. I'll look into them.

One confusing thing though... you said
"A DAW has no influence on what a sampler does with tempo changes."
And yet, I just tried the demo of Reaper and it worked fine in that. I would have bought it, only I just didn't like the different layout and editing method compared to Sonar, which I am used to.

Simply changing the tempo changes the length and time of MIDI notes and other events accordingly. If you want to change the tempo but leave the notes unmoved & unchanged, you need to use a different process. Have a look at Project > Set Measure/Beat at Now, to see if what you really want is to align the project tempo with something you played without following a metronome.
