Is this the only PC plugin that behaves this way, and this only since you upgraded? If so, what's the version # of the DLL?

Alegrira - yes and no. I have used the gate/exp before on another track and it didn't do this. more info: then I went to REMOVE that module and it took out the gate AND the EQ - I didn't think it was supposed to do that?

another update:
I left clicked on the bar in the empty PC and was able to choose "GLOSS EQ" - which I've never seen as an option before - but obviously it was not in the PC, so it allowed me to choose it. I did, it inserted and now everything is working normally again. I inserted the EXP/GATE again and it came up with the GUI this time.
I'm sure it's a glitch of some kind - but hope it doesn't continue.

Without prejudice, could this be related to a mod you are using? Anyways, this is certainly worthy of a "Twilight Zone" episode.

that is very true. I am using a mod.
but I would think that might only affect the first problem - I wouldn't thnk that the mod would affect the EQ going away and being able to be selected from the menu.

I wouldn't thnk that the mod would affect the EQ going away and being able to be selected from the menu. According to past queries about the EQ, that plugin is soldered on the PC strip and should not under any circumstances be removable nor accessible through the menu. That would definitely get all of my attention.

Beagle, I have had a very thing happen in a completely stock install. Everything, including the EQ was removable, leaving an empty PC. I had the add EQ option as well. On the next use of X1 I could not remove the EQ, and have never been able to do so since then.

It's good to remember Cakewalk does not want us to discuss about problems if they are not verified in a clean install. That's fair and understandable. Could mod make PC Gate GUI not showing? Unlikely. PC Gate is a VST plugin (with PC additions) and it uses external, own resources. More likely it's just a normal but rarely appearing bug unless PC module loader checks if Dark Side is installed and decides to hide GUI if it's in Beagle's system. I was able to remove EQ in clean X1c Producer. I liked empty ProChannel so much that I made it my default channel strip; EQ took lots of space before Expanded allowed collapsing but now I've got used to start from 'clean table'. I didn't think it could have been the mod that caused this problem, but I had to admit I was using a mod when it did happen. it hasn't happened since and I can't remove the EQ anymore.

I just crashed while I was playing back my song and then inserting Saturation.
The module did not display (as you were stating) but the light was on.
I then started removing the other compressors and then when I tried to remove Saturation, I crashed.
A report was mailed to Cakewalk for me and I had to reboot. I will check this again after reloading.

I just rebooted and tried three different projects. I removed PC modules and inserted new ones on the fly with music playing and no problems. I also tried it on tracks with GR4 just for grins. Could not get Sonar to fail.

This happens to the tool bar a lot. It's still doing it in X1D by the way. Looks like it's manifesting itself in to the PC now. By the way, you may want to change the title of the this thread to "Missing GUI on GATE for PC X1D *ON MY SYSTEM."  (Inside joke between Alagria and me.) :)
