Missing I/O valuable option for existing VS studio owners

I do not know if people from the R&D department of Roland visit this forum, but as an owner of a spare Roland DIF-AT, I would like to see at least an R-BUS 8ch I/O impemented in the VS-700R V-Studio

    r-bus: roland digital IO thingie

    http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.aspx?ObjectId=344

you find it on their mixers, and their recording units etc. i've been using that rbus card in the link with a vm3100 mixer for many many years now. its been a really good friend!

You know I'd like to see alot of in out capabilities in interfaces of any brand, but face it they're not all the same. Anolog, Digital, Light pipe, ADAT, SPIDF, TDIF, DB-25, now there's USB and firewire, AES EBU, we'd all like the flexibility to run several different interface formats at once but you have to realize it's a war for supremacy between inventors. When you buy an interface you,d better consider what you want to pay for what you're going run into it and out of it. I think the V s 700 gives you a lot options as far as competing equipment goes.

    well
i have a VS-890 8 track 24 bit digital work station by roland
yes it has all the quality you'd expect from roland
i bought this recorder in 2000
    it still work's fine today
i use it to record still and then import my tracks into my computer/sonar 7 PE
    high quality i tell ya

supose to be able to interface with sonar 7 PE -----NOPE
    e mail'd tech support
got some **** step by step that did'nt work
by some tech who doesn't have a clue about a Roland VS-890 DSW

    BUT
and it's a BIG BUTT and I'll BET

Once Roland and Cakewalk git there **** together
    it's going to be great
but I'm going to sit wait and watch through the early version's
let em work out the bug's before I SPEND MY HARD EARNED DOLLAR'S

The DIF-AT gives you R-BUS to ADAT conversion...which is typically used to connect R-BUS gear to an ADAT audio interface on a computer or other hardware. The VS-700 already connects to the computer via USB and has an ADAT interface for I/O. This implies that any equipment you have with R-BUS could be connected directly to the VS-700 (via the DIF-AT) and the digital signal routed directly to Sonar, as needed.

I own the 2480 and I for one have had enough of Roland proprietary nonsense. Roland in their grand wisdom will put a connection that very few people use or are able to use instead of something normal like..oh…USB for example. R-bus is dead…..please let it rest in peace

The sad part is, is that I’m already beginning to see Roland’s silliness influencing the VS-700….like including a bunch of features no one asked for or needed…making the whole package mandatory instead of doing the obvious thing of selling the control surface seperate…and making it overpriced. That’s Roland through and through

Like i work with 2 vs2480 i also connected the IO roland cable
    I didn't use this often.
This feature is no more relevant with the V 700 sonar
Working with the vs2480 and the V 700 is not an option for me anymore.
