Missing R-Mix after upgrade (SOLVED, thanks to John and scook)

John and scook have helped with some great suggestions as I hijacked another thread.  I thought I'd start a fresh thread since I still have the issue...

This is after an upgrade from X2 Producer to X3(e) Producer (both 64bit):

I've reset and rescanned my VSTs a couple of times to know avail.  I added the specific folder where the Rmix VST resides to the list of folders to scan and reset and scanned again, still no RMix. I thought I might move the Rmix VST to a higher level, but when I look in the RMix VST folder, there are 3 dll's.

Specifics:

Folder where Rmix VST resides: c:\Program Files\Cakewalk\vstplugins\R-Mix Sonar Edition
Files in that folder: RMixSONAR_64.dll, sds64.dll, tbb.dll, trex64.dll

Any help, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Best,
Rob

OK did you try installing R-Mix after you installed X3? You can do this by using the advanced install of X2 install. You need to install any other X2 component.

Then reset and rescan in X3.

First off, if R-Mix is installed in the default location "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\R-Mix SONAR Edition" explicitly adding the path is wrong. The directory will be scanned because it is in the default location for all 64bit plug-ins. Not sure what no R-Mix means. If it is missing from the plug-in layout only make sure to use the "Default All plug-ins" layout. If it is missing from the plug-in manager make sure it is not excluded.

The only other ideas I have are, remove the plug-in directory, run the VST rescan, then perform an advanced install of X2 to reinstall R-Mix. If that fails, it may be the machine is missing a library needed for this plug-in to work and may take a little sleuthing to figure out a fix. Ok…. I'm an idiot.  You guys had suggested I choose "Default All Plug-ins" but I was looking for that option in the VST settings window in preferences.  You also mentioned I should check this in the Browser window, which I finally did and Bingo, there's my R-Mix.  Really, I feel so stupid sometimes.

John, Scook...Thank you guys for sticking with me even when you had given me the answer long ago.

Well now I'm a little bit blushing. I hope you will have a great time with Sonar X3.  I do like R-Mix myself. I think its a great plugin.
