Missing all my VST3 plugins after SONAR 12.16 installation (Solved)

After the upgrade to SONAR 12.16, all my VST3 plugings seem to be missing.  This includes PolyTune VST, TH3 Full version and Melodyn.  Anyone have any thoughts?

Hi. Which plugin layout do you use? If you select by type, do you not get the Vst3's?
    All the best.

Hi, and thanks for the reply.  I've learned some stuff here, some of it based on your question.  I never really thought too much about how plug-ins worked or were cataloged.  It sort of took care of itself.  For whatever reason, when I installed this latest update on SPLAT, my VST3 plugins seemed to be missing, meaning in my case Melodye, TH3, TC Electronic PolyTune and the three Cakewalk plugins (LP MB, LP EQ and CA-2A).  I ended up going into preferences and to the VST section and forced a manual scan with Re-Scan Failed and Re-Scan Existing plugins and they reappeared.  After reading your post to me, I w went to the browser and realized I can rack/stack my plugins in many different ways which is cool

So thanks for that and I guess my problem is solved overall, although why they disappeared is a mystery to me..

I got a "database error" when I started 2016.12 for the first time.  Many things were missing from the 'plugin' section of the browser. I did a full scan with the plugin manager. Everything came back. Working fine ever since.

That was a smart thing to do. I don't think you will have the database issue pop up again.

When ever one finds plugins are missing a reset and rescan can often fix the problem.

May I ask where this plugin manager is you're speaking of?

Never mind, I just found it lol.  Man, I am learning all kinds of stuff tonight.

Likewise John, and thank you for serving in Vietnam. That was a tough place to have been I'll bet. I enlisted in 1978 (retired in 1999), after growing up in the late 60s/early 70s wondering whether I'd ever make 25yo as a teen. Your service during one of America's hardest times in recent memory is exemplary. Merry Christmas sir.
