Missing features from 8.5?

I just upgraded from 8.5 and I'm so far liking the new interface, but there are a couple things i miss from the old one and i'm hoping I just don't know how to do it yet in this new one.

First, is it possible to have different snap resolutions for different screens? for instance, have the transport snap by measures in the track view but then when i'm editing in the piano roll have it go by 16ths.

Also, can you still customize the piano roll tools like you could in 8.5? I really liked the configuration i had as i never had to switch tools!

Thanks in advance!

The answer to both of those questions is no.

In X1, the Snap To Grid is now global so you have one snap value for the entire SONAR application.

And in X1, the tools can not be customized. You must learn the default keyboard shortcuts in order to use the Smart tool in all the different views.

It is still possible to have different snap to settings per screenset thankfully. Enter IncludeSnapInScreenset=1 in the ini file and that allows snap to per screenset to persist.

Thanks to Zyler for that tip.

Yep, that's true... thanks for the reminder, FBB!

I'm glad they kept that option in too.

    Thanks for the info!

Although I can't see why they'd take out the ability to customize tools.  They could've at least left that feature in as an option... o well

This is info that should be written on the wall with big fonts.
It's just luck that I saw this, and the option to save snap settings in different screensets are one of the great benefits with screensets!

For sure, thanks a lot! Global snap settings suck to no end.
