Missing notes when playing back midi

Hello all, ive been using sonar for a few months now and im having a problem with missing midi notes. Anyone know what could be causing this? I posted about this a while ago and changed the buffer settings to 500 which i thought had worked. But dont think it ever did i have the buffer at 1000 and still know difference its always the same notes on playback if that helps. Any help would be appreciated thanks :) Kenny.

Hi. There is no "magical" number for this. If 500 doesn't work, try 600, or 700.
    All the best.

Thanks but im already at 1000 wouldnt 600 or 700 not work if 1000 doesnt? Or is it possible there is a sweet spot? Thanks.

You're correct in that there is a sweetspot for different systems.
I have mine at 500 in my studio.

"its always the same notes on playback"

Which notes? Assuming you are using a soft synth, some patches only play the notes a 'real' instrument would play, so you may have notes in your MIDI track that are out of range for your instrument patch.

If you are importing the midi for bass to played back with bass instrument plugin, you may need to transpose the midi up. Select the midi file, go to transpose and enter "12". See that helps.

Sometimes midi notes get doubled and that can cause your issue.
In PRV find the note that is silent, grab it and drag it up or down. Do you see another note that was hidden underneath?

I have seen (can't remember who, or where) someone having the same issue not too long ago regarding the Faderport.

    Found it. http://forum.cakewalk.com/I-am-Having-an-Issue-with-SofTube-Console-1-in-SONAR-m3659752.aspx#3662104
    Towards the bottom.
Are you on Win 10? If so, it might be something to do with Win updates.

Yeah I'm on Windows 10 I will check that link thanks. I really want my faderport to work with sonar. I had it all reprogrammed through azslow and was loving life till the glitching started lol
