Mix Feedback Please-NEW MIX UP

I don't like the "ringyness" I'm getting out of the telephone vocal in the middle; suggestions? Anyway, just really want some fresh ears listening to this. Thanks so much in advance. Hi Scott,
I'm listening on my laptop at moment but from here the mix seems pretty balanced and well put together, well done.
I would not be a fan of the snare, it sounds very dead,need a little more "crack",maybe that was intentional, Other guys should be able to advise you here on that.
The guitars and vocals are out of tune in places, nothing too major, vocalist has a great voice.
I liked the telephone effect especially when followed by the scream vocal.

Cian, Thank you! The snare was the hardest thing I ever mic'd, it was a tiny piccalo-type snare - I tried putting a little low end on it; maybe I should leave well-enough alone - so good observation there. The kit and his playing is almost Jazz/Ska/Reggae like. You're also right about the out of tune guitars and vocals. I tried to fix the guitar a bit using Autotune, but a re-tracking may be necessary. Actually, my idea was to have him just do a second track and when I mix the two, it could solve all but the most obvious out of tune spots. My constant "tune up" between takes should have been a bit more forceful, eh? One thing I should mention about the vocalist, is he has a very powerful voice, and they wanted him to put a "scratch" during tracking (they all performed live). Well, I set him up with a '58 in the control room without phones (conservative monitoring level), and that's what we got! Pretty impressive if you ask me. I was thinking about how Bono does it when U2 records. It works! More feedback will be more than welcome. Thanks again Cian!

No prob. Although you prob should be looking to take away the low end of the snare and prob boost the 1-4k frequency range to give it that "crack" sound. Keep it up.

is there gonna be more guitars added? the single one here sounds very exposed, dull and demo-ey. needs at least one more guitar performance, some bass (c'mon, that's YOUR department!) but actually the sound improves as things go on. just needs more elements i think.

Right. I think I fixed the low end problem with a little carving, either that or I need to recalibrate my sub.
As far as guitars are concerned; the answer is NO. The band has recorded what they want; but I may suggest another layer at least. I think they're going for more of a punk sound, but I still haven't gotten any feedback from them yet about the mix. I would like to hear another layer I can do a bit of panning with to open it up. I'm hesitant to do anything until I hear back.

Maybe it's just me but this is really bottom heavy (and in not such a good way).
Sounds like someone entirely cut the mids and treble on the guitars.

Man, maybe my ears are fried. I actually A/B'd with some other Professional songs from AC/DC to Smashing Pumpkins to Steely Dan, and I don't hear any strange bottom end on those or mine.
I'm using JBL 4328P monitors too, and can't hear anything abnormal with the sub on OR off.
Maybe I just like bottom heavy mixes/music?

No, it is possible that I am a bit heavy in the bottom end. It is a usual mistake of mine, but god, A/B'ing mixes and "KNOWN" sources through the same speakers and then listening to mine and not detecting anything - usual SOP would tell me that this would be the way to tell for sure.
But alas . . .

I'm listening on Senheiser HD600 @ home. Will listen on the DAW in an hour or so.
Vocals are much better (even though I did not say much about them on the last mix).
Guitars are on the muddy side. Could still use some sizzle (IMO).
Drums seem a little better than earlier today.
Listening to the bass guitar I'd say put a high pass @ 40-50Hz and maybe do a 1.5db boost at 2.5K for some definition. JMO.

OK, so not a total train wreck! Good!
So what about that low end muddiness? That's the part that's driving me batty.
And, I did put a high pass on everything BUT the drums and bass. Maybe that's my mistake.
