Mixbus 4 Update
Mixbus v4.0.151 - "Hotfix" Update Thanks for your support during the Mixbus v4 launch! It has been a tremendous success. We are very grateful to you, our customers and supporters who helped bring this major update to the Mixbus platform. Happily we haven't encountered any major bugs since v4 was launched; but we did find and fix several small issues; and we decided to publish this small update while we are working towards the release of Mixbus32C. This is a FREE update for all Mixbus v4 users. We encourage you to install this new version. Changes introduced in v4.0.151 New Features Mixbuses can now be added to “groups” with the Group button at the bottom of the strip. This allows (for example) grouping several mixbuses so they can be hidden/shown together. The track color-selection dialog now provides a default palette of colors to choose from, and right-clicking on a palette option will save your personal favorites. Fixes & Improvements When creating a new session, the Audio Setup dialog sometimes didn’t appear; instead the session would open with the last-selected sample rate. This has been fixed so the Audio Setup dialog always appears when creating a new session. Drag & dropping a channelstrip EQ/compressor box to another channel was working to copy the settings, but it was not updating the visible knob positions. This has been fixed. Fixed the default mouse modifiers on macOS: If you are having trouble with shift+clicking on tempo lines and markers, please visit Preferences->Editor->Modifiers and click “reset to defaults”. Solo-ing Mixbuses via VCA didn’t work. This has been fixed. Fixed a problem with solos, when loading a v3 session in v4; mostly noticeable when using Mackie MCU controller. Several fixes to “linked” MIDI regions, especially trimming. Fixed a problem with solo’ing pure MIDI tracks (with no instrument). Tempo Marker dialog now allows editing the “end” tempo (for tempo ramps) as well as the start tempo. Improved tempo marker handles & text, on MacOS "retina" machines. Improve a-delay to follow tempo-ramps & BPM changes. Rolling the transport, at very specific zoom scales, would sometimes cause the measure/beat-markers to appear & disappear regularly. This has been fixed. The default color of beat lines has been changed to blue, so it is easier to distinguish "beat" grid lines from the “measure” lines. Tempo markers can be ‘clamped’ - this means that the end tempo of the previous section will track the start tempo of the next marker during tempo-mapping operations. Shift+dragging a fader will now reverse the Group behavior: if fader grouping is ON, then shift+dragging will allow adjusting one fader in the group. If fader grouping is OFF, then shift+dragging will move the faders as if the option were on. Faderport MIX button can now be assigned to “show mixer” and Proj can be assigned to ‘show editor’ ( instead of the old "toggle editor/mixer" which sometimes didn't work if you were on a different window ). In the editor sidebar, Locations dialog: right-clicking to change the clock mode: this setting will now be recalled when the session is closed/reopened, Dragging to create/assign a bus on the input strips: if you extended past the end of the channelstrips, you might assign the group to adjacent mixbuses. This has been fixed. The “all” debugging option in OSC remote control has been fixed ( in the past, only handled messages were printed to Window->Log. Now, even unhandled messages are printed. This will help OSC developers who want to remotely control Mixbus over a network ). Fixed an issue where automation-playback was constantly marking the session dirty (the "needs saving" marker would never disappear). Allow Edit -> Crop to work with edit point set to mouse. Allow Separate using Loop/Punch range to work with edit point set to mouse. Rework percussive hit spraying, in drum mode. Fixed a crash when inserting time with split intersected regions. Greatly improved support for VST plugins that allow resizing their window. If a VST has an internal bypass control, Mixbus will try to use it instead of ‘hard bypass’. Change VST initialization on Windows to avoid a crash with EZKeys ( and probably others ). Fixa possible crash in multi-bus AudioUnit plugins. Something is a bit weird. The version 4 that I first downloaded a while ago is actually 4.0.21. This seems later to me that what is supposed to be this latest update. I guess it means I am already further updated than this update.

When I bought Mixbus 4, on March 4th, I got version 4.0.24 and now the new update is 4.0.151? Apparently, we need to go to Harrison for clarity! LOL Michael

I asked about this in the Harrison forum and one member said... Well, actually the current version is 4.0.151, which I believe would be newer than 4.0.24. The last decimal starts at zero and works up from there. At least it does with the Ardour sources. Strange if that's the case. .24 is less than .151?

OK Thanks Clint! It must be "the alternative new version"!!! LOL I'm sure we'll get the final scoop from Harrison at some point. Have you guys installed the update? I haven't, yet, for this very reason, thinking I would wait for some clarification. Michael

MB4 is really nice! Great update! However, I have not been able to get iZotope's Neutron to work in it. I was able to get it "kinda" working by playing with the Pinouts dialog prompt, but as soon as I changed presets it stopped passing audio again. Anybody had any luck? Let me know how you did it if you would. Thx.

Depends if the system is character or numerical based. In numerical terms 151 is larger than 24 all the way up to 150. In a character based sort 24 is "after" (not larger) than 151. Context is where it's at. Well, maybe it's just two turntables and a microphone.

Thanks Bapu I get the difference. I guess I hadn't seen any updates that I noticed with any "numerical sort". I aced my high school calculus, but that was 50 years back! LOL and my turntable got sold in '94 just sold I would stop lugging my 700 albums around the country...... Karaoke kinda gives me anxiety!! Michael

It is a silly way of doing it because it goes against everything we know in terms of revision numbers. It has also caused confusion here and elsewhere I am sure so therefore it is unusual. If they want .151 to be larger than .24 then it should be .024 don't you agree! But yes I can see that 151 is larger then 24 as well. At least we know now how Harrison is going to be doing it then.
