Mixbus Activation Problem. RESOLVED!
Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me. I purchased Mixbus today. I downloaded the software and the license file on my phone, and then transferred it to my studio computer. The install went fine, but when I open it, I can't figure out how to activate the license. When I click on the button for the license, it attempts to connect to the internet. I don't have internet service at my house, just the phone. The license file I downloaded is just a text file. I tried pasting it in a couple different folders in the Mixbus directory, but no luck. Can someone please help me? BTW this is a Windows PC. Thanks for any help you can give. Bob

As the directions told me to do so, I place the license file on the desktop and opened MixBus. Simple. AFAIK you do not need an internet connection* and I do not recall having to press any button for the license. *disclaimer: I have a 24/7 internet connection on my DAW.

The license file does not seem to work from the desktop. It needs to be in a special folder. For me on Win XP it is in C:\Documents and Settings\User name folder. Right in there. Just move the license file there and it should work fine. You need to put the other license files in that same place too if you get their plugins etc..

Thanks Jeff. I'll try that. I'm running Windows 7 64bit. According to their website, it works with 64 bit. I'll post my results. Thanks again.

Having the license file on your desktop should work fine then. Place it there first before installing /opening the software. Plus from their website: "I purchased Mixbus, and downloaded the license. But it says it is "UNLICENSED" and I occasionally hear a burst of noise. Verify that the license file was downloaded to your computer's Desktop. Mixbus will also look in the Downloads folder for the license, but most users find it easiest to save it to their Desktop. If Mixbus still says UNLICENSED when you launch it, the 2 most common problems are: 1) Your browswer changed the filename when the file was downloaded. For example, it might say "license_key_harrison_mixbus2.txt (2)" Usually, deleting all the license files on your Desktop and then re-downloading the link solves the problem. The file must be named EXACTLY "license_key_harrison_mixbus2.txt" 2) Your user does not have write permissions on the HOME folder. If this is the case, then Mixbus cannot copy the file from your Desktop into your HOME folder. Verify that you can copy files to your HOME folder. The HOME folder is the folder that contains your Downloads, Pictures, Music, etc."

Carl, THANK YOU!!!! I FINALLY got it to recognize the license. It downloaded as a .HTML file. So I opened it in Word and saved it as a plain text document so it had the .txt extension - No luck. After a little messing around I finally decided to open it in Word again, and this time instead of saving it as a Windows text file, I saved it as an MS-DOS file. Opened up Mixbus, and it showed it was licensed!!!! Thanks so much for the help! And thank you also to Jeff and Bapu. I really appreciate your help!
