I made a convert of My Pal Mooch last night. I sent him a SONAR mix and a Mixbus 32C mix. The SONAR mix had some edits on the dry vocal track, FX on the bazz and drums and the the raw guitar tracks received. I exported a stem of the guitars, bass, drums and vox (thereby keeping the levels the same). Dropped those tracks into 32C and just called them Mix1 and Mix2. All I did in 32C is assign the tracks to their own bus. Not one drop of EQ or any added FX. Here is his response: "I like number 2 better - it was less low and and less mud than the first one -- the second one had more detail and definition especially in the vox " As we've all said Mixbus/32C imparts a console sound that just works. BTW this was an unreleased metal song and I therefore cannot post it publicly yet.

I think I'm one of the guys that got you to look at MB3 to begin with. Larry is the one that got me to buy 2.5 a few years ago.

I bought Mixbus 2 on August 23, 2013. I'm not saying you were or were not Clint but I do remember Mooch showing me an advert about Mixbus coming soon to the PC (it was Mac/Linux only then, IIRC).

Well then I wasn't an influence at all!!! I can't bring myself to delete Mixbus 2.5...it still has a vibe to it.

I have deleted 2.5. I'm no 32bit guy anymore.

I need to delete Sonar X1, X2, X3, Mixbus 2.5, and my 32bit plugin folder. It all makes me nervous though.

Without touching a knob, and using 8 buses or less...is there a difference between 32C and regular Mixbus? If so...how would you compare it? If the 32C is based on the 32C, what is the regular Mixbus 4 modeled after? 950MX?

I've never given that a try but I can and will. clintmartin If the 32C is based on the 32C, what is the regular Mixbus 4 modeled after? 950MX?
Ben said what it was modeled on but I can't remember. It's somewhere on the MB forum.

Ben replied... Mixbus is not a model of any particular console. For Mixbus, we reviewed our old console logs & settings, and we determined that a good 3-band eq, with 2 shelves and a proportional-q mid, plus a hpf, would solve 90% of the EQ'ing needs in those old sessions. The Mixbus EQ & compressor were specifically designed to provide the fundamental tools of mixing. Best, -Ben
