and I just wanna know...when its all hooked to my computer..am I gonna be able to
ADD effects to my drums like an echo type reverb or delay to make them sound good!
and not just flat boring garage drums???

If you record the drums alone onto a track then yes, you should be able to add effects (plug ins) after the tracking is done. I am not familiar with what ACID studio has but I would bet it is some VST based effects just like is used in Sonar and other digital audio workstations. There are many freebies out on the net. Pop over to the guitar tracks forum and search for plug ins. Steve Strummer compiled a thread with lots of links to them.

You'll need a multi-channel soundcard for your computer if you want control over the individual drums. Otherwise, basically what you'd be doing is recording a stereo (2 channel) drum mix into your software. You'll have to get your levels (inputs and effects) perfect at the board before recording, but yes, it can be done.

yea I want all individual drum volumes...so I can tweak em
and would like kool effects for a good mix
"I thought tha mixer I picked with all tha channels would give me indivdual tracks" to tweak
    not just a left/right stereo....

    what soundcard would u reccomend??

I personally use the M-Audio Delta 1010lt, but there's LOTS of them out there....Depends on your budget and how you want it to hook up to yer PC. PCI cards are generally the fastest, with Firewire cards next, and finally USB devices.

I see there's another version of your mixer with USB output, but I don't see whether or not it will send the individual channels to yer 'puter....

Once that's sorted, you should record your drum tracks "dry" and add processing (effects) afterward. I'm not familiar with the software you use, but I can only assume that there are included FX. I'm using SONAR Home Studio 6XL, and there's plenty of things included that help with my drum sounds.....

Keep in mind that mic placement, careful setting of input levels, and a propely maintained/tuned drumkit are the keys to a good drum recording....

    Good Luck-

i talked on the phone to peavey customer support (by the way they are very cool)
about the usb mixers and this is what they told me,
the usb mixer series is capable of sending a stereo mix to and from your computer in other words you would only be able to record a stereo mix of your drums and they would all have to be on the same track,
also these mixers do not have there own drivers to install they operate with streaming audio only through windows.
and they are subject to terrible latency problems and audio glitches.
the peavey customer support told me all this even though he knew he wouldnt get a sale when he was done.
this is not the answer for what you are trying to do i would look into somthing like the motu 8 pre cost a little more but as mentioned above you will need 8 inputs to do a good job (some get away with 4 , 2 overheads a snare mic and a kick mic with ok results)
plus you will need some good mics.
    hope this was helpful tim.

Hopefully you didn't buy yer mixer yet. Check THIS ONE out.

We have (kind of) established that you will need a multi-channel soundcard with at least 8 inputs. The mixer I've suggested will work well with such a setup, esp. since it has direct outs (I know a lot of folks are down on Behringer, but it's got the features and it's at the same price point as the Peavey...).

Recording the drums individually can get expensive very quickly. We haven't even touched on microphones....

I love my Eurodesk..... 48 channels into 8 subgroups into 16ins into my DAW. I think Behringer makes a great board.

my advice to you is set your fx levels the way you want them to sound using the Aux, then record it to a external cd burner, you will hear exactly the same way you want it to.
