Mixing a live recording

Hey everybody. I recently recorded some live stuff with sonar for a band I sat in with. I just hit record when we started and let it record for the 3 hour or so show. My question is, what's the best way to get the recording into a different project for each song that was played. I know this is probably super easy but I just can't figure it out. I just want to take each song and make it its own file so I can edit per song.

I have a video link in the signature of how I do it.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

Maybe there is more easier way, but here is what i would do. Select all audio and split between the songs, save. Delete all except song 1, save as "song 1". Open initial project, delete all except song 2, save as "song 2", and so on.

When I do this, I usually record in sets.  These are usually 45-50 minutes each.  I leave them whole and work on each song at a time.  This gives me continuity of settings panning, effects, etc.  That way each song sounds like it came from the same performance (which it did).

It works for me without having to slice & dice into individual songs.  When I get ready to mixdown a song, I select select the tracks I want then I select the song and mix down...Works well.

I have done what adq suggests, it works but it is painful...

If you want to keep all the fx and routing similar is easiest to work with a single project file and split and use markers for each song.
You can also now use mix recall to save all the fx and routing for each song if you want specific fx. Clip fx also come in handy.
