Actually you have a point. Strohs beer is strong but smooth. It has real flavor. Its more robust then Adams but with the same smoothness. It is not a Bud lite. As to the others Strohs owns them but its not their beer. If you want a really cheap watery beer try Goebel. Its also owned by Stroh but is for bathing in.

You do see the irony here, right?

+1 to Kirin! The Japanese certainly got this beer just perfect! But alas, I only have one bottle left in my fridge Interesting though, I know it to look like this:

I think that's what the Australian version looks like. I didn't know until now that it was brewed in Australia... I want to find some genuine Japanese Kirin and compare!

And a vote for Asahi. Amazing beer.

Also would like to put a vote out there for Hoegaarden. Some great stuff too.

I like various varieties of Aussie beers, VB being one of the most popular but I also like Coopers, Fosters and for something with a bite 'Redback' has a redback spider on the label On the plane to the US my first taste of US beer was Miller's and it's not too bad, tastes a little bit like Crown Lager (Aussie beer). But then again nothing beats a good home brew.

Erk! At the risk of being disagreeable, I have to respectfully disagree in the most respectful manner imaginable. VeeBee tastes like (and I've tried desperately to employ an entirely appropriate euphemism here, and the best I can offer is) "gnats urine". Of the Aussie beers, Cascade is the drink, that and James Boag. And I'm not from Tassie, I'm a Sandgroper.

LOL!! That's OK to disagree, can't expect everyone to favour the same beer

I use to live in Sydney it seemed that VB was the choice though maybe these days that has changed. I've been living in the USA for almost 4 years now. I do remember having Cascade and yes it's a nice drink, Green bottle I think it has the Tasmanian Devil on the label!?!.

I was at the local supermarket in the USA when I spotted Coopers, got a 6 pack of that, they also sell Fosters but not VB or "gnats urine" as you described it LOL!! Next time I'll see if they sell Cascade.

Cheers!

I agree that VB is a BAAAD beer! Though, it is better than Carlton Draught. If I am out at the pub and my cash is getting low I will usually get a VB over a Carlton, even though all my friends think I am crazy while they drink their Draught. And SongCraft, FOSTERS?!?! Funny thing about fosters is that I know of no-one who ever drinks it. It's funny, the best known Aussy beer internationally and no-one here drinks it!

Oh and another vote for Ginger Beer! Great stuff!!

Mike funny you mention "ironing" and I can link it to music...

*it contains strong language so be warned. *

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdy_YE7P1sI

fast forward to 17:55...

I feel sorry for the Japanese who had to deal with him.

It was a documentary about a DnB label, but the thing is it just shows them as jokers and not very professional.

It was nice to see a documentary about the music, but they just made things look more like a comedy.

Can you get Coopers Pale Ale in the US??????? Can someone offer me a job over there, I would love to live there and drink it everyday. OK OK, it's a south Aussie beer and the more sensible thing to do would be to move there - but I've been there, and have done that... Oh my... Coopers... *drooooool*... I want some pale ale!

Hey! Who mentioned James Boags?

ProjectM, I found this site: Click Here I have purchased from that site before although you may want to shop around first they may sell Coopers locally somewhere in your region it may save you money. Since early this year I can get a lot more varieties of fine wines and beer made in Australia including Coopers at the local supermarket since extensions were done on the liquor section of the store. And YES! Right here in the US
