Modern Drum Production in SONAR

I just wanted to mention that the Modern Drum Production video is very good indeed.

I'm mixing a project now, and after watching it I had to go back and start over on the drums about three times, having learned something useful from one of the videos.

It's well worth the money if you need to record and mix drums.

It is good, that video, though the way he mic-ed up the drum kit was crazy excessive, I thought. Ended up with four mics on the snare if I recall correctly.

I tried that technique, and couldn't find much value in using both a dynamic mic and an LDC on the top. Also, I don't find that close-micing the hi hat and the ride is necessary, since they come through very clear through the OH.

But I thought the mixing videos were extremely useful.
