Sad thing is I remember watching that first clip when it was broadcast. It was on a series called "Rockschool" which was on BBC2 here in the UK, and focused on all the elements of a band. The female guitarist was rather attractive if I remember correctly.

Things have definitely changed since those days... I have to admit though, I had a lot of fun putting together MIDI sequences with my Atari ST, Dr.T's KCS, Roland JX8P synth, and Yamaha RX15 drum machine.

I made a pretty good living with nothing but a Roland TR707 and one of the DX7 racks containing 8 modules.  Of course when I listen back to any of that stuff...it's cringe time;-)

I especially like where he played the 3rd note of that first riff a little too late so it got quantized the wrong direction... some things never change.

    Oh man... that first video...

I can still remember working with a self-build keyboard and the BBC-B computer. All was stored on a 200Kb 5 1/4" floppy disk. It had a Music 500 attached to it that was programmed with a special "music" language named Ample (an on top of that the music ROM in the sideways ROM socket). And all that stuff was expensive too....

Yeah - I'm starting to feel old now..

But this lets you appreciate the stuff we have these day's even more...

I'm not sure I'd call what I heard on that video "inspired".  Navel gazin...noodlin...piddlin...accidental melody maybe.  But not inspired.  Tho I did like some of Depeche Mode's stuff back then.

Well...sorry to one up anyone but after hearing Edgar Winters Frankenstein on the radio when it was first released...I bought one of the first series of ARP 2600s. It was killer diller but would NOT stay in tune or travel well. But when I wore the keyboard...yes I made a strap...and played it, it did wow the sick and shut in
