Mojave MA-201 FET vs. Audio Technica AT4047/SV for Female Vox?

Mojave MA-201 FET vs. Audio Technica AT4047/SV for Female Vox?

Anybody here have any experience with either of these mics?  I'm looking for a nice SS condenser to replace my old AKG C414 XLII (nice mic, but just wasn't digging it for vocals).  Based on the many reviews I've read, I've narrowed it down to the MA-201 and AT4047/SV, although I'm leaning toward the Mojave at this point.  Here's my primary concern - I want a mic that will work well with a variety of female vocalists.  I work primarily with several female singers with different ranges, styles, timbres, etc.  I may also use it occasionally for acoustic guitars or maybe some hand percussion, but I'm not as concerned about that.  Oh, and FWIW, I'll be running the mic through the following gear:
 
- SSL XLogic Alpha Channel (FMR RNC on insert, as needed) > MOTU 828mkII
- Focusrite ISA Two (Drawmer DL241 on insert, as needed) > MOTU 828mkII

    Nice chains.
     
    I haven't used those enough to have an opinion, tho the studio used the tube Mojave on my wife's band for her vocals.  It sounded good, does the job.  It wasn't real exciting, either. They have a version up at revernation - the last song, Witch Jonie (mixed by Paul Leary).

    Sounds good, AT!  Very rich and detailed, and nice and forward.  I hear ya on the not-so-exciting part, though.  I take it that's the MA-200?  I considered that one as well and it gets very good reviews for male vox just about everywhere I look, but I've seen mixed reviews of it for female vox.

    yea, I think it was the 200.  And it certainly works.  some of the other girls sang through it for other songs - Father Time, I believe was from the same sessions.
     
    At that level almost anything will sound good.  Special, I don't know.  The studio I had 'em using always has something different for the main vox mic - the g 800 for a while since he does a lotof hip hop.  A couple of 47 clones.  He always has something new.  Those, as they should be, were a bit more exciting (for double and triple the price they ought to be).   At some point I have to upgrade from my Jolymod 319, but I'll want a wad of cash to make it worthwhile.  Anyway, good hunting.
