Moment Of Truth

"Moment Of Truth"
http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=7077273&q=hi&newref=1
This is an older tune that features my ol' bandmate Richard Burke on Vocals... co written by me, Richard and Robbie Gay(formally of the Johnny Van Zant Band)
I'm thinking of re-recording with a newer arrangement... what do ya' think..?  should I go for it, or just leave it alone..?

I think the old version sounds pretty good!  I might mix it a bit differently, especially the drums, but the performances are great.

WOW Frank, I don't know!! This sounds pretty good in these Hi-Def headphones of mine, and I'm thinking you might just leave a good thing alone. There are always times when we think something, that we have that is a bit old, might not sound as good as it really is, and think some changes could make it better, but I don't think this is one of those times we leave well enough alone. Everything fits together very nice in this and you might just leave it be. But, if you were to do anything at all, I would only play around with some track editing presets to see if that can make it any better, like maybe some compression or limiting. I like it the way it is right now, so these are my thoughts, but the ultimate decision is yours to make. Very nice arrangement, instrumentation, vocals and mix. Nicely done.

    solid as usual from frank.

There is not really that much wrong with this at all, brass sounded a little fake and the vocals came off second to the music bed most of the time for me but this song rocks.

I like it this way very much.  Sometimes is alright to leave well enough alone and take what you've learned and apply it to something new.
