Monitor vs HDTV Thoughts

Hi all,

Please help keep me from screwing up. I hope to upgrade to a 27" display in the next few days.  I'm thinking 60hz 1080p HDTV so it can do double duty. Anyone have any thoughts on the good bad or ugly of this concept? Thanks so much for your time.

My son uses his 37" and runs Cubase and play's games, watches movies.. He is not hooked to any cable TV system., It's the way to go, Much better than 2 smaller monitors. , but he recommended using widows 8 for some reason if you go this route, don't know why,, someone else here will know more about that for sure.. might be the resolution support. His screen icons are about the same size as normal.

Keep in mind that if you are going from 2 monitors side by side to an HDTV, you will be going from basically 32:9 to 16:9.  I tried this and didn't like it at all...back to my dual monitors.

I plan on keeping one of the smaller monitors just for the console.
