Monitors

I'm about to get Monitors and I was wondering whether you can use the monitors to play the sound from your computer (ex. Use the Monitors to play songs on iTunes etc.) I have a set of logic speakers hooked up now, but they take up a lot of space and I would rather only have one pair of speakers on my desk. Is this possible?

Motu 828mkII if that helps ..............

I wouldn't suggest it, but of course it is possible.

You'll have to set up MS to play through your moto. Control Panel>Sounds & Audio Devices>Audio. I use to have my SB set up for both - one output went to my computer speakers, one to the mixing board and out to the monitors.

You'll have to be careful, tho, with your internal computer warning sounds. Some are very loud and if you have been mixing/etc. .... The sounds will be as loud as your monitors. Go through and pick the warning sounds for low volume or just disable them, leaving only sweet music through your new monitors, so you don't blow them.
