Mono Recording does not play in both speakers

This probably is something really simple to fix but I can't figure it out. I am currently using an Alesis Multimix8 firewire with sonar x1 producer. My driver mode is ASIO. When plugging a guitar in track one I select: Left ASIO Alesis Firewire Alesis Multimix MIC_LINE_1 I then record and both left and right side of the pan appear to be recording at the same volume. Whenever I play back through the board the left and right lights on the board are moving as if both sides have sound I can even pan left and right and it will respond as expected but the sound will only come out of the left speaker. This happens whenever I use other channels as well. If someone could just point to something that I am doing wrong I would be extremely grateful!!!!!

On the track inspector there will be a button that looks like this (((*))) to the left of the r and w buttons. that's the stereo interleave button. click it to turn it from blue (stereo) to gray (mono).

And there is your problem. you do not record a mono input track on a stereo track in Sonar.

Left ASIO Alesis Firewire Alesis Multimix MIC_LINE_1 Is a mono input

Record mono into a mono track and stereo into a stereo track and you'll fix your errors

    Thank me,
