Mono/Stereo bug (Direct X only?) - Not fully fixed in X3E

Hi

Can anybody reproduce?
Please note this issue might be just with Direct X plugins, or just this plugin, as I cannot reproduce the same with Breverb

STEPS
New Project
Insert, arm and record 2 x mono audio tracks for approx 30 seconds
Observe in Console view interleave set as mono for both tracks.
Mute second track.
Insert Cakewalk Classic Phaser in first track, set it to "quad phaser slow" preset.
Observe interleave button still mono.
Press play

EXPECTED
Playback in MONO

ACTUAL
Playback in STEREO

STEPS CONTINUED
Click Interleave button on first track, interleave becomes stereo.
Click Interleave button again on first track.

EXPECTED
Interleave button becomes Mono

ACTUAL
Interleave button does not change.

STEPS CONTINUED
Observe whatever you do interleve button will not change to mono unless:
Move classic phaser to second track
Press interleave button.
Observe interleave button is mono.
Drag Classic Phaser back to orginal position (track 1).
Observe interleave button is still mono.
Press play.
Track will still play back in stereo (Expected = mono).

UPDATE!!

Replacing Classic Phaser with Sonitus:fxSurround (DirectX), and following same steps as above, will allow the interleave toggle to function at all times (different behaviour!), however the output is always stereo whether the interleave mode is in mono or stereo (I would expect the output to be mono if mono interleave is on).

Replacing Classic Phaser with Breverb, and, following same steps as above, will also allow the interleave toggle to function at all times, and the output will be stereo if the interleave is in stereo, or mono if it is in mono (as I would expect).

ALSO NOTE

It may well be that classic phaser and Sonitus:fxSurround only gives a stereo output in which case mono interleave functionality should be totally disabled in all scenarios (and the expected behaviour I have written here should change). Although really I would expect Sonar to make it mono regardless.

If interleave button cannot be changed I would also expect it to look greyed out, or stuck.... visually.

Thanks!

The second part of the issue has been fixed in X3E (interleave button), however the first part has not (effectively playback is still in stereo):

    STEPS
    New Project
Insert, arm and record 2 x mono audio tracks for approx 30 seconds
Observe in Console view interleave set as mono for both tracks.
    Mute second track.
Insert Cakewalk Classic Phaser in first track, set it to "quad phaser slow" preset.
    Observe interleave button still mono.
    Press play

    EXPECTED
    Playback in MONO

    ACTUAL
    Playback in STEREO

Some of the Project5 plug-ins (like Classic Phaser) always set interleave to stereo - they always have and probably always will.  It's very plug-in specific, so not a bug in SONAR per se, but an idiosyncracy of some plug-ins.

    Thanks Kevin

It may very well be true (hard coded) however in that case the interleave button should be indicated as STEREO in this scenario and you should not be allowed to change it. A channel indicating it is MONO should actually be pushing the output in mono.

However making it MONO afterwards is a better idea.
Either way we should not be second guessing if a channel is MONO or STEREO, the interleave button should never lie :)

True - to show what happens, try adding the Classic Phaser as a clip insert on a mono clip (on a mono interleaved track)...
