Monthly Payment Cancellation Problem [Resolved - Confusion over Process]

I thought I would take the monthly payment option to give me the chance of trying out Platinum based on the fact that I could cancel at any point if not completly happy. Took out the monthly option end of January and before the time that the end of February payment was due I used the Cleverbridge order form that supplied a box to cancel the monthly payments. Here it is :-

Nice and simple and payment cancelled so I uninstalled Platinum expecting the CCC to react at any time :-(. No luck so back to the Cleverbridge cancellation box and do it again. Onwards and upwards still connected and by the look of things I could be inline for the third monthly payment at the end of this month. OK I have mailed Cleverbridge support and I will let you know the result.

Just warning members that getting the monthly payment option up and running is so easy and so quick but be aware cancelling it is another matter. Also the Monthly Cancellation option on the Cleverbridge order form appears to be a complete damp squid.

The whole experience of Platinum installing numerous 32 Bit Plugins on my 64 Bit PC plus piles of unwanted DXi's did not float my boat. Added to the complete inability to clean projects of unwanted audio files without a search of entire system just added to the pain. Now Cleverbridge have only added to making what should have been a pleasurable and simple operation into the opposite.

Lastly If someone can tell me how to uninstall the CCC and all its components from my PC I would appreciate it as when I right click on any component the uninstall option is not there.

Appreciate any help and thanks in advance.

Gerry

That's too bad about your experience with the CCC. You should be able to uninstall through Control Panel, Programs Uninstall. It shows up in my list anyway.

Cancelling your monthly membership does not take SONAR from your Cakewalk account nor Cakewalk Command Center. That is intentional. If you paid for a month, you still get to use the product for a month.

When your month is up, SONAR will look to see if you still have an active membership. If your membership is still active, and your payment was submitted, SONAR will continue to be fully functional. If your membership was cancelled SONAR will revert to demo mode after the next payment date was due, but you still will have it in your account.

The reason is so that if at any point you decide to pay for another month, SONAR will become functional again immediately. All the while, we're not pulling the product from your account & forcing you to have to go through the process again.

I guess to also help clarify, cancelling really is as easy as clicking that link. If you're looking for additional reassurance, Cleverbridge is a good avenue. I can already see on our end the cancellation however.

Many thanks for the replies firstly Cleverbridge quickly got back and state they did cancel the payments and asked for a copy of my bank statement which I have sent to them. This could possibly be a bank error but the exact monthly payment has been taken out of my account in January and February. I will let you know the end result but like I said the good news is Cleverbridge did stop the monthly charge when first requested and are as miffed as I am as to how the same amount was taken from my account a month after cancellation. They will refund the extra month if it has gone to them, all I know is that it has gone out of my account LOL.

Thanks Ryan the fact is I do not want the CCC on my PC at all. I want to get rid of it period as I can directly download previously purchased products like Dimension Pro directly from Cake etc. Could be paranoic but I am convinced that since installing the CCC my PC occaisionaly goes into slow mode or acts differently than before. Before anyone screams impossible I fully accept that but that is the sensation I have and I cannot rule it out until I get rid of the CCC. I can always download it again should the need ever arise although at the moment I am regretting ever having downloaded in the first place.

Anyway no hard feelings just onwards and upwards.

    Resolved confusion over process !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You must be joking I cancel the monthly payment and my account gets hit a month after the cancellation for exactly the same amount. Coincidence possibly but nothing confusing it is a fact.

Am I confused in wanting to remove the CCC from my PC? Where is the CCC uninstall button? Sorry I am getting more than pissed off and the last thing I need is some smart person saying Resolved Confusion over process. Maybe the Process needs looking at and maybe, just maybe the customer has a point.

    Hi Gerry,

I'm sorry if my tag came across wrong. It wasn't meant to be insulting. Please accept my apology if that's how it came across.

You posted that you were having a problem cancelling your membership and were concerned it wasn't working because the product wasn't being removed from C3. I clarified that from what I could see, your cancellation went through just fine. This process really is extremely simple. I'm trying to clarify for people how straight-forward it actually is.

So there was definitely some confusion in regards to how the process works. Please do not take offense. I think you'll find I was simply trying to clear things up for you and everyone else. Allowing people to think this process does not work would be doing a disservice to everyone. I will not apologize for attempting to clear things up for people.

    What a tough crowd :/

Anyhow, as BassDaddy pointed out, Command Center can be uninstalled from Control Panel > Programs and Features by selecting "Command Center" and clicking Uninstall.

In regards to the actual payments posted to your credit card, only Cleverbridge can fully resolve, but I can see from their notes that it appears they might be awaiting some more information from yourself since they didn't find a second payment. I can't dig in as deep as they can though but they've been a great partner to work with and I'm sure can help resolve any discrepancies.

"You can check out any time you want..."

    Explanation for my comment above:
I live in the UK and this was an attempt at humour.  The poster was having trouble trying to cancel but couldn't, and this reminded me of the wryness of the line in the Eagles song quoted above.  That's all. I was not mocking and there was absolutely no offence intended, and those who've been around on this forum for the many years I have will know that I have not a single snidy bone in my body. The US and the UK are said to be divided by a common language but I tend to find that they are more divided by humour; in the UK we do a lot of friendly 'piss taking' of each other but I realise that this is mostly taken literally in the US. For those who fall into that camp (despite the winking smiley), sorry, as I said, I meant no harm.

    Apology accepted Ryan.

Firstly I have replied to Cleverbridge Support with my bank statements and I have already stated this could be a bank error so until we establish who and why the problem is not resolved.

Secondly a customers problem is resolved when he replies back with a big thank you and says problem resolved. A problem is not resolved when a manufacturers employee or host posts a reply and without waiting for an answer or confirmation from the customer marks it off as Resolved.

Thirdly nobody but nobody suggested that you should apologise for helping clients. Helping customers is something that possibly falls within your job discription.

As to the "What a tough crowd" comment there was no need for it. I am sure you are a great guy and a very helpful one and I will leave with that opinion.

Thanks to all those that helped me on my short return back into the Cakewalk fold and I honestly wish Cakewalk all the luck for the future.

    Best Regards,
