More 64 bit X1 Expanded weirdness?

I'm usually a day & 1/2 late on stuff (ok, maybe a year & 1/2) but have you noticed this?

1. When opening pre X1 projects the CV PC preset window says "Untitled" and the PC rack remains just a big empty space. No modules.
  - Create a new project in X1 and you get the default set of modules.

2. 32 bit plugins will NOT dock in the multidock and have a different header menu bar than the 64 bit-ers. That's like... discrimination, man!

3. DropZone loads in but I can't get any sound from it.

v--- Real wacky ---v
4. StudioVerb2 doesn't scan in 64 bit BUT if it was in a 32 bit project opened in 64 bit X1 it will have parentheses around it.
  - Double click it and you get a text window explaining why it's not there. Odd thing is you can dock this window in multidock.

I miss StudioVerb2. Why was it and other nice plugins banished from the 64 bit realm, how come?

I get a blank Pro Channel whenever I add a new audio track to a new or old project. This started when I installed the PC2A Leveler module. Thank GOD I'm not losing my mind and someone else has seen this. I mentioned it in another thread.

I gave up on 32bit plugins, so I haven't seen this problem, but it does not surprise me in the least.

Gave up on DropZone 3 Sonar versions ago so I can't help you there.

If I remember correctly, StudioVerb2 is a direct X plugin and doesn't work in 64bit period. I liked it too. There are several plug-in's like that, that you can't use in 64bit. That was the main reason I had both 32 and 64 bit installed, but it was just too much work so I gave up. I only have 64bit installed now. When I do use a 32bit plug through Bitbridge, I do my work and freeze the track as soon as humanly possible. There's too many variables in 32bit vst's for bit and j bridge to work reliably in my opinion.

1 Save a template as "normal" with the PC as you want it.
2 Thats because they are Bitbridged
3 You need to "drop" stuff in it for it to have something to play.  A groove clip for example.
4 32 bit DX plugins can't run in a 64 bit host.  You can get around this by getting a DX to VST wrapper and loading it under Bitbridge,.

Yes, creating a new project with an audio track will load the PC modules but adding an audio track will yield the "Untitled" preset which is blank. Save it as a preset and it's yours when you want it.

So loading an sfz set into DropZone won't work like it did under 32 bit?! The Browser won't even display the sfz files. I don't get it. This forces me to use Dimension for sfz's.

I'm new to Bitbridge. How does it work? Behind the scenes? I don't see any reference to impliment it anywhere.

    Thanks,

Bitbridge does its thing with no user intervention. I personally prefer jbridge which is cheap as chips (there is a demo).

Advantages are you can dock VSTs that are using it, it looks much prettier, and more importantly doesn't insist on keeping it's window on top.

Install it and then select it as an option in the VSTs options in the plugin manager.Simples.

So you mean loading an sfz set into DropZone won't work like it did under 32 bit?

    Bitbridge is automatic.

For what it's worth, I started having serious issues with Sonar X1d Expanded 64-bit when using BitBridge with UAD plugins. Particularly with the EMT Plate 140 I actually had Sonar completely freeze on me.

I tried out Jbridge and it didn't crash. :-)

Not sure if it was just a demo thing, but when I loaded in Jbridge all my settings got reset. The only way I found around it was loading the project with UAD plugs loaded by BitBridge, then going into the Plugin manager and telling them to load in Jbridge, then inserting the Jbridge version, matching settings, and removing the old Bitbridged version.

Did I complicate matters by using the demo? Am I missing something? This was a huge pain, but Jbridge is definitely better at loading some plugins, and it's more nicely integrated. Thumbs up from me!

    Peace,

    Tunes
