More Noodling on my Baritone

This is a tune I wrote about 8 or 9 years ago. I originally recorded it with a regular 6-string Taylor guitar, a bass and some violins. I thought I'd try the tune out on the baritone and just fake a melody line along with it, which is somewhat different from the original violin melody. Kind of loosey-goosey, but here it is. This was recorded with the guitar plugged in direct, no mics.

Hi Scott, beautiful piece, excellently played. Interesting guitar, never seen this string arrangement before, can imagine this working very nicely in an open tuning playing fingerstyle. Thanks for posting this.

    Rik,
Thanks abunch! Means a lot coming from you. When you say "string arrangement", are you referring to the first picture that I had deleted? That was of the 8-string baritone. I have the 6 string model pictured above.

Hi Scott, I was wondering why I couldn't hear those octave strings . Pat Metheny plays a six string baritone with the strings in a strange order, so there's room to experiment. Very nice guitar, probably isn't made of plywood like mine .

    Rik,
Nope...no plywood here. This has solid Sitka Spruce and Indian Rosewood.

    Dan,
I agree on the sound! Thanks for checking this out!

    Malcolmb,
Thank you kind sir! It's rich tone makes my heart sing too.

    Mr. Larry,
I will be acquiring a five-string fiddle at some point, but probably no six string fiddles in my future. Thanks for your kind words my southern friend. BTW, I got a call from a guy in TX asking me to help him find a fiddle teacher. He'll be coming to VT in a few weeks to stay at his camp on the lake for the summer.

Scotty - man I think you are an awesome musician!  I just love this!  well recorded, lovely tones, great mix.

I've never seen anyone play a baritone up close, but their sound is great if you know what you're doing.  and this is marvelous!

Very nice!  For the guitar harmonies, did you use an harmonizer or you dub it?
