More OT than most - Company sticker opinions wanted!
My friend said some of our branding was a bit too soft for some body shops. He thought that a sticker that was "a bit edgier" might get put on tool boxes and such. Here's my first attempt and I'd love to hear some feedback!

It looks good, but it doesn't give a clue as to the biz you're in. If you didn't say in the post, by the name alone I would've guessed you're a barber.

I don't see any relevance from the logo to the business. Unless your message is ... buy our stuff or we'll smash your face in !

Craig, you need to put together a series of 728 stickers, each featuring a naked ample breasted lady of the opposite sex. And post them in here for us to er...... 'check' that they're suitable. (and please stop adding a bracketed afterword to all your posts in extremely small font because I struggle to find them amusing be able to read them)

OK, serious reply. I too see no association between auto body fasteners and a fist (with tats?). Not sure I can suggest a better image. Let's face it, auto body fasteners are a pretty bland product. For text, something like "NW Clips.... when duct tape no longer holds your car body together"

Our local mountain bicycle club adopted a new improved logo featuring a brass knuckle as a replacement for the previous one that had the bicycle on it. I find that watching people choose logos etc. is very painful.

Interesting. But, remember, this isn't our "logo" per-se, it's just supposed to be a sticker that the body shop guys might think is cool enough to put on their tool bins (they already know what we do). And, yeah, I am doing my best to fight the obvious blandness of the product! (Ok Steve, I'll consider loosing the fine print comments. )

I think this business would be better served if the image was of something that would benefit from a clip. Use something like a chain or bridge and have a clip holding it together.

see when I see clips in the context of automotive, I think the whole front end, like we replaced the clip on the 66 Stang with a rack and pinion one.

The fist looks tough but with the word clips on it … I was thinking manicure. I do remember when you originally posted Clippie and Forrest and I also recall pointing out the obvious; that Forrest resembles a flaccid penis (“branding was a bit too soft”). Why don’t you try something like a vicious or mean looking dog with a bone instead of the fist? The image of a dog with a bone can serve as a metaphor for the tenacity with which your clips hold the fastened objects together and it is manly enough for a tool box.

SteveStrummerUK I like that.
I don't know ... I just don't like the Death Fasteners launching a preemptive strike on the US. I still like my dog with a bone idea better.

Yeah! Like that! Well, the owner liked it and it now has a slogan he came up with so here's what it looks like now (these will be round stickers): Now all that's left to do is figure out why we have so many turkey basters lying around, but it seems everyone has that problem lately...
