More SFZ support > Virus TI...

I am still going through the DP free expansion pack. Incredible work! Easily rivals some of the patches on Trilogy and Atmosphere IMHO. Really great work.

Having said that even more SFZ support is showing up. Now Virus sounds as well.

http://www.sonicstate.com/news/shownews.cfm?newsid=3316

So in theory they should work with DP, Rapture, Drop Zone e.t.c

Yup...I'm actually working on the Rapture presets for that set as I type this. Got delayed a day or two....but I should be done mid-late this week.

Nice! I might get Rapture over the next few months but for now Dimension Pro and Drop zone are the current tools I have for this new sound pack. Thanks for the update.

Don't worry....I'm working on a set of 128 Dimension Pro presets for inclusion in this SFZ set as well. They'll be ready sometime in August.

    Frank,

When you say "working on the rapture presets", do you mean that they will be available for sale for Rapture when you are finished?

    Thanks,
    Chris.

    Hi cGar,

Yes, They will be added to the SFZ version of the Viral Outbreak vol1 set. They will be done tonight. I assume NSL will add them over the weekend. They won't be available as a separate product, obviously, as you need the sampleset to use them.

    Frank,
Excuse my ignorance, but I'm just not up to snuff on SFZ. If I buy the Viral Outbreak vol 1, it will include the actual samples, SFZ files, and Rapture presets?

Can you lay it out in laymans terms for me? How many Rapture presets are we talking?

    Hi awilki01,

Not a problem at all sir. Here's the deals,

If you buy the Viral Outbreak Vol1 SFZ Version, here's what you get:

    1. All the multisamples, with around 134 SFZ programs (the samples are tied to the SFZ Files, each SFZ file represents a different sampled program, made up of several multisamples). Roughly 2gig worth of content or more.

    2. 128 presets for Rapture, all making use of Viral OutBreak Vol1 SFZ programs, programmed by myself.

    3. Although these won't be added til mid-late august, I'm pretty sure you'll also get the 128 Dimension Pro presets I'll be programming for the SFZ version. I would email NSL support and ask about that though if I were you.

    4. You also get the Kontakt version (kontakt instrument files tied to the same samples the SFZ files make use of).

All that for, pending confirmation, around 59$.

Does that make sense? Let me know if I can explain it better.

    Peace

    Hi guys,

I am the main developer of Viral Outbreak Vol One.

Frank has described things well in his last post. Indeed, for $59.95 you will receive:
    i. the wavs themselves
    ii.the sfz/kontakt basic patches
iii. once finished, 128 rapture patches
iv.once finished, a set of DimPro patches too

The Rapture patches are almost done, if you buy now you'll receive then via email as soon as they are completed. Also you will receive the DimPro patches as soon as they are completed.

If you are still on the fence, I'm going to create some mp3s with the Rapture patches as soon as I get them from Frank :) But for now you can listen to the Wusikstation demos, which are roughly what you can expect from the Rapture stuff.

Any questions? I'm here to answer em :D

Quick update for those interested....I just heard back from NSL about the price and they've informed me that it will stay at $59.00 (USD) after the addition of the Rapture presets.

Ok guys, it's 3am in the morning for me, and I've just shipped out the finished presets and directory structures to Nucleus Sound Lab. All they have to do now is test them and make sure everything works alright, then they should be good to go.

I'll post up again when they've been released.

    Now I'm going to sleep.

For 59 bucks? Barring the samples sounding like my garbage disposal, I'm in.

I've got a great specimen of one that's had one too many spoons dropped into it. The wind-down decay is priceless. Unlike the toilet flush samples, though, I don't have it mapped to .sfz yet. Stay tuned for B Rock's Household Disaster sample set. It'll include some material from Frank's recent basement 'mishap'.

    Hi Daniel,

Of course, you get a customer discount if you are a previous customer. With the discount, this product comes to about $53 for the SFZ/Kontakt/Rapture/DimPro or $76 for the Wusikstation. The discount html link should be in your original purchase email. If you've lost that or can't find it, PM me and I'll send it to you again :)

Its done and ready to go. 128 really excellent patches for Rapture + SFZ patches + Kontakt patches + ~1.5gb of 24-bit wavs for $59.95! Head to www.viraloutbreak.net to purchase :)

Hopefully I'll have some demo mp3s in the next day or two specifically to show of the Rapture patches. For now, have a listen to all the Wusikstation demos. If anything these new patches sound even better with Rapture's excellent filters and distortions. Cheers,

Too cool Frank. Now to make the decission. If I snag the dvd I put off my flat pannel monitor a few weeks. I still haven't got my new amd dualcore up and running yet cause I could afford that comp but not the monitor. That and a portable table to set it up on. But the patches are sooo hard to resist. These sound ready to jam.
