More artists for Rain to check out

Just listening to Elsiane's Hybrid again and thought of a couple of other artists you might want to check out (did you like Vanessa Daou?).

Try these full albums: Explosions In The Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place and Sigur Ros - Untitled

What I really like about Elsiane is how it seems to get better with each listen (maybe you need to get used to her voice which reminds me of a downtempo Bjork - lol).

Yeah, I dug Miss Daou - actually found out that we had some of her music on one of my wife's HDs.

I'm  familiar w/ Sigur Ros though I haven't heard them in + 10 years but I've never heard about the other. I'll check them out. Thanks! :)

Yeah, Elsiane can take some getting used to - my wife really didn't like them at first but now she likes them even more than I do.

    Hi,

I just put on the new Acid Mothers Temple.

    What new album Pedro?

The usual convention is to include a link to YouTube like this: Them Crooked Vultures - Them Crooked Vultures (full debut album)

    I don't do "conventional". I'm anti-social, you know?

I got CD after listening to Gong Acid Mothers ... and those improvisations are really good, and total space rock and then some. I'm just not sure that it would be the kind of stuff that Rain would listen to, though, but it was good and very enjoyable for me. Seeing some thrashing on top of the glissando was cool just like the old days when Steve Hillage used to do that to Daevid Allen and such! I miss that kind of insanity ... I really enjoyed that "freedom".

    I need new ears!
    1. Black Magic Satori
    2. Devil Inside
    3. Space Paranoid

Ok, so the real answer is Black Magic Satori (which has those three songs on it).  Now, off to find it...

Thanks for the Explosions in the Sky tip, Craig. Very Sigur-Ros-ish, minus the strange and smile-inducing percussion, vocals and keyboards that made S-R such a treat.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
